Algeciras is a major port city in southwestern Spain on the Mediterranean coast. It serves as an important commercial hub and has one of the largest ports in the country. Algeciras is also known as the main connection point between Spain and Africa via the Strait of Gibraltar. The distance from the city to Gibraltar is just about 20 km. The city boasts numerous historical landmarks, including the Guadelete Fortress and the Archaeological Museum.
