Labour Market

The labour market in Spain has undergone significant changes since the early 2000s. After the 2008 crisis, the country experienced high unemployment; however, subsequent reforms in legislation, tax policies, and labour regulations have made the Spanish labour market more flexible and competitive. Today, Spain’s labour market is one of the largest in Europe, boasting diverse employment sectors and job opportunities for all qualification levels. Nevertheless, low wages and certain restrictions affecting specific groups of workers still fuel dissatisfaction and remain subjects of debate within government circles and on social media.
