In Valencia, officers from the National Police have detained two men suspected of committing sexual offenses against women of varying ages. Both incidents occurred in different parts of the city and have attracted public attention.
The first incident was recorded on Tuesday night. A 46-year-old Spanish woman filed a police report stating she was sexually assaulted by a 40-year-old man with Algerian citizenship. According to her, the attack took place in one of the temporary structures near the former Formula-1 track, where the alleged offender resided. The victim was able to leave the scene on her own and contact emergency services.
The second incident took place several days earlier, on August 7. This time, the suspect was a 19-year-old tourist from Germany. He is accused of raping a 21-year-old tourist from the United States, whom he had met the previous evening. After the victim contacted the police, law enforcement quickly detained the young man.
Both suspects were taken to the police station, after which the court ordered them to be held in custody pending investigation. The decision to remand them was made by the duty judge of Valencia’s Fourth Investigative Court.
City authorities emphasize that the investigation is ongoing and urge anyone with additional information about these cases to contact law enforcement. Police also remind the public of the importance of seeking help promptly in such situations.
Instances of sexual violence in Valencia have raised concerns among residents and visitors. Local organizations supporting victims note an increase in reports and stress the need to strengthen security measures.
Police continue to collect evidence and clarify all the circumstances surrounding the incident. Additional investigative actions and forensic examinations are expected in the near future.
