An evening at the Opéra Garnier in Monte Carlo was marked not only by the presentation of the prestigious Prince Pierre Prize, but also by a rare joint public appearance of two style icons—Princess Caroline of Monaco and her daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi. Their attendance at the ceremony, established in memory of the princess’s grandfather, Pierre de Polignac, to honor outstanding talents in the arts, became the social highlight of the evening. Mother and daughter, seemingly in unison, chose looks that spoke not of a desire to outshine everyone, but of deep respect for the event and the enduring strength of family ties.
Both women opted for classic black—the color of timeless elegance and aristocratic restraint. This was a carefully considered stylistic choice that shifted the focus from their attire to the event itself and its laureates. Yet, even within this minimalist palette, Caroline and Charlotte managed to showcase their individuality and impeccable taste, a trait passed down through the generations in their family.
Princess Caroline, who recently returned to the role of grandmother, looked impeccable as always. She opted for a pantsuit that was far from ordinary. The single-button blazer created an intriguing optical illusion with a delicate scattering of sequins imitating lapels. The flared trousers were embellished with the same sparkling details along the sides, giving the classic tuxedo a fresh and contemporary twist. But the true highlight of the look was the accessories. A long necklace, almost reaching her hips, with two tassels, along with an Art Deco-inspired brooch and earrings set adorned with green stones and diamonds, turned the elegant outfit into a work of art.
Charlotte Casiraghi echoed her mother’s stylistic choice, also opting for a monochrome black ensemble. However, she interpreted it in her own way—more youthful and relaxed. Instead of trousers, she wore a classic high-waisted A-line midi skirt, pairing it with a simple cotton T-shirt in the same shade. Her main accessory was a chunky double necklace made of black stones of varying sizes, draping all the way down to her waist. Even their hairstyles resonated with each other: both left their hair down, styling it with a side part and a touch of volume at the roots. This subtle detail once again emphasized their remarkable closeness and harmony.
