The grape harvest in the Castilla-La Mancha region is not only an agricultural season but also a vibrant cultural event that attracts those seeking authentic experiences. During this time, the region transforms, offering visitors unique opportunities for wine tourism. At the center of this experience is the five-star hotel La Caminera Club de Campo, located just two hours from Madrid. The hotel invites guests to immerse themselves in wine traditions amidst understated luxury, harmoniously blending nature, haute cuisine, and the culture of winemaking.
The hotel has designed three exclusive programs for guests wishing to discover the soul of La Mancha. The first, “La Mancha and its Vineyards Experience” (Experiencia La Mancha y sus viñedos), combines wine, history, and cultural heritage. The program begins with a visit to a small private winery, where you can learn the secrets of artisanal winemaking and enjoy a tasting paired with local Manchego cheese. Next, guests are offered a guided tour of Villanueva de los Infantes, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved historic Renaissance and Baroque towns. The cost of the program is 75 euros for two, transport not included.
The second program, “Wine Tasting Experience” (Experiencia Cata de Vinos), takes place directly in the wine cellar of La Caminera Club de Campo hotel. A sommelier leads a tasting of carefully selected regional wines, accompanied by signature snacks inspired by local cuisine. At the end of the hour-and-a-half event, each guest receives a gift set of products from the hotel’s farm as a reminder of their connection to the land. Participation costs €65 per person, with a minimum group size of two.
The third offer, “La Mancha Sunset Experience” (Experiencia Atardecer Manchego), is designed for romantics. Guests are taken by off-road vehicle to the highest point of the estate, where they can enjoy panoramic views of the plains bathed in the golden and violet hues of the setting sun. Here, an aperitif with local delicacies is served, along with a choice of champagne, wine, or gin and tonic to welcome the sunset. The experience lasts one and a half hours and costs €62.50 per person.
In addition to wine tours, La Caminera Club de Campo offers guests various leisure options. The complex features a golf course, two padel tennis courts, and the Retama restaurant, which was awarded a Michelin star in 2022. For maximum guest convenience, the hotel has a private airstrip, making it an ideal destination for a secluded and luxurious countryside getaway.
