The second season of the popular show “La revuelta” on the national channel TVE did not get off to the smooth start as planned. Despite all efforts by David Broncano’s team to create a spectacular launch, the premiere episode was marred by a technical glitch that completely ruined the performance of star guest Chanel. The broadcast of her act was interrupted, and viewers saw only a few seconds of what was intended to be a dazzling kick-off for the new TV season.
This blunder was immediately dubbed a ‘colossal failure’ on social media. And for good reason: Chanel’s performance of her new track “Matahari” was meant to set the tone for the entire season—a powerful and striking opening. Instead, what was supposed to be the most memorable moment of the evening turned into an awkward incident, depriving the show of its main highlight on premiere night.
Recognizing the scale of the issue, Broncano himself and his team decided to set things right. And they did so in the best possible way: by bringing Chanel back on air. In the October 1st episode, the artist was finally able to perform her song under proper conditions with a guaranteed full broadcast, receiving the attention she deserved.
“Today we’re fixing an issue that came up, and to help us, none other than Chanel herself has joined us,” the host began, introducing a performance that this time aired without any disruptions. The following exchange between Broncano and the singer showed how easily both handled what had happened. The host joked that their relationship works in a way where he causes problems and then apologizes. The artist smiled, confirming that she’s perfectly comfortable with this arrangement.
The talk show host did not shy away from responsibility and openly admitted his mistake, sharing how unsettled he felt at the time. He recalled that in the first program, the singer was invited to perform right at the beginning, but due to technical issues, her segment was cut down to just three seconds. He said he was shocked when he realized what had happened. Chanel, for her part, showed no displeasure and revealed what the host had done: he called her that same evening to personally explain the situation. She noted that she values such honesty and was happy to accept the invitation to return.
This meeting not only helped to smooth over the negative impression left by the rocky start, but also strengthened the image of ‘La revuelta’ as a project unafraid to acknowledge and correct its mistakes. With characteristic irony, Broncano summed up that, in the end, everyone won, as viewers had the chance to enjoy the artist’s performance once again. Much to the delight of the studio audience, this time Chanel was not alone on stage—she performed a duet with La Pili, making the act even more impressive. This gesture demonstrated that the understanding between the host and the star turned an unfortunate blunder into an opportunity to connect even more closely with their audience.
