LaLiga FC Futures has long established itself as a launching pad for many future football stars. Over the years, the tournament has brought together players who would later become key figures in top clubs in Spain and across Europe.
One of the most recent outstanding examples is Lamine Yamal, who in 2019 was the top scorer at the international stage in New York. However, his success is not unique β other members of the 2007 generation followed, such as Davinchi, who played for Betis, and Pau CubarsΓ, who also stood out in that same tournament.
Yarek, now representing PSV, first made a name for himself at the tournament back in 2015. Cristhian Mosquera, who played for Valencia in 2016, recently transferred to Arsenal in London. Marc Bernal, another member of Lamine Yamalβs generation, also made his mark in 2019.
Among the participants from previous years are Juanlu and Hugo Γlvarez, both of whom made their tournament debuts in 2015. Hugo is considered one of the main hopes of Celta’s academy. HΓ©ctor Fort, slightly older than his peers, played in 2018.
Gonzalo GarcΓa, now a forward for Real Madrid, first caught attention in 2016. That same season saw Gavi take the field, who today is regarded as one of the country’s most promising midfielders.
Fran PΓ©rez, now a player for Rayo Vallecano, took part in the tournament in 2014, while Alejandro Balde, born in 2003, made his first LaLiga FC Futures appearance in 2015.
Carlos Γlvarez, a member of Xavi Simons’ generation, was also spotted at the tournament in 2015. Xavi Simons himself, now playing for Tottenham, was named the best player of the tournament in Miami, where Barcelona defeated Valencia in the final.
Carlos Soler, who represented Valencia in 2009, was recognized as the most valuable player. Among the tournament veterans are Bojan Krkic (2002), Fernando Llorente (1997), Esteban Granero (1999), as well as Gerard PiquΓ© and Cesc FΓ bregas, who played together in 1999. Alberto Lora was then named the best player of the national stage.
A special place belongs to AndrΓ©s Iniesta, who became the tournament’s first big name and was awarded MVP in 1996 while playing for Albacete.
LaLiga FC Futures continues to reveal new names, solidifying its reputation as a talent factory for Spanish and global football.
