Star Tailors Return: RTVE Reveals Names of New Season Contestants

Needles Sharpened: Alejandro Sanz's Ex and Beyoncé's Designer Set to Stir Spanish Television

The popular project is back on air. Celebrities are preparing for new challenges, facing demanding creative tasks. Who will prove to be the best designer?

RTVE is gearing up for the highly anticipated return of one of its most spectacular shows. The second season of the popular celebrity sewing competition will soon premiere on La 1. The first participants, ready to swap the stage and runway for sewing machines and measuring tapes, have already been announced. Among them is Mexican model and actress Heidi Michel, long associated with the Spanish fashion and television industries. The former partner of Alejandro Sanz is determined to prove she can not only model outfits, but also create them. Joining her is singer and songwriter Beatriz Luengo, whose artistic versatility is recognized worldwide. After winning a Latin Grammy and penning hits for other performers, the Madrid native is taking on an entirely new challenge. The contestant list also includes actress Silvia Marty, who gained fame after “Un paso adelante,” and twin brothers Edu and Jorge Román, successful models. Rounding out the first six is the incomparable Mario Vaquerizo — a showman and pop culture icon who will undoubtedly bring a true reality show spirit to the competition.

The main surprise of the upcoming season will be the renewal of the judging panel. Joining project veterans Lorenzo Caprile and María Escoté will be 29-year-old Barcelona designer Luis De Javier. He has already been dubbed the new “enfant terrible of Spanish fashion.” The young designer has made a name for himself internationally by creating looks for global superstars like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Rosalía, and Lady Gaga. After studying in Barcelona and gaining experience at fashion houses such as Vivienne Westwood and Gareth Pugh, he founded his own luxury brand in 2020. His style is a bold blend of Spanish tradition and avant-garde aesthetics. After several years working in London, Los Angeles, and Paris, he returned home to develop his brand and support local artisans. His arrival on the jury promises to bring a fresh, global perspective to the competition.

Presenter Raquel Sánchez Silva will return to host the show. She will guide all twelve contestants (the full list is still being finalized) through the most challenging tasks in the sewing workshop. Once again, she will be tasked with maintaining order in a program where the thrill of competition, humor, and genuine emotion are closely intertwined. With this combination, the second season promises to be even more prominent and unpredictable. Fashion, television, and music will come together in a space where a needle and thread are the only tools for winning over the judges and the audience.
