Style Icon Rania of Jordan Stuns in Sky Blue at Parliament Opening

The Secret to Queen Rania's Elegance: Details of Her Latest Couture Look

The Queen of Jordan sets new fashion trends once again. Her look at the parliament opening was flawless, featuring a Valentino dress and rare accessories. Discover all the details of her stunning outfit.

Queen Rania took center stage last Sunday at the opening ceremony of the second session of the parliament of the Hashemite Kingdom. She was accompanied by Princess Rajwa Al-Hussein and her daughter, Princess Salma bint Abdullah. For this solemn occasion, the queen chose one of her favorite shades—sky blue. Her ensemble perfectly balanced formal austerity with refined elegance. Beside her, Princess Rajwa—often praised as a worthy style successor to her mother-in-law—demonstrated once again that sophistication is a hallmark of the Jordanian royal family.

The centerpiece of her look was a silk dress by Valentino Garavani. The light, flowing fabric in soft blue beautifully emphasized the queen’s grace. The midi-length, A-line model was crafted from jacquard featuring the Italian fashion house’s signature VLOGO pattern. An integrated tie-collar, which could be worn loosely draped or tied, added distinctive charm and motion to the ensemble. This prêt-à-porter piece is a vivid example of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s creative vision, as he skillfully reinterprets classics in a modern and feminine way.

For footwear, Rania opted for shoes by Lebanese designer Jennifer Chamandi, whose studio is based in London. Her creations have brought a real revolution to the world of luxury footwear thanks to their architectural precision. The Queen wore the Lorenzo 105 model—pointed stiletto pumps made in Italy. Their signature detail is the ‘Eye of the Needle’: a small hole in the heel that allows a thin leather strap to be threaded through, making it possible to wear the shoes in two different ways and thus adding versatility. Notably, Princess Salma also chose footwear from this brand, but went for the Lore 85 model in black, featuring a more stable heel suited to her age.

The standout accessory was the iconic Peekaboo bag by Fendi. The Queen chose a mini version crafted from hand-woven cappuccino-colored calfskin. Released in 2009, this model has become one of the symbols of the Roman brand’s craftsmanship, thanks to its unique dual-compartment design and recognizable twist-lock closure. The look was completed with gold-toned hardware, an adjustable shoulder strap, and a slim camel-colored belt that elegantly highlighted her waist.

The finishing touches were tortoiseshell sunglasses and modern white gold earrings. Her makeup was kept natural, with the eyes subtly highlighted using understated eyeliner. Her hair was styled in a gentle updo, giving her look a fresh and radiant feel. Blue has long been Queen Rania’s signature color, a hallmark of her visual style. Remember her official portrait for her 55th birthday, where she posed in an Adami dress by Solace London in an icy blue shade. With this latest appearance, she once again reaffirmed her commitment to the color, which evokes calm and continuity.
