The Barcelona football club has presented new video footage to the public, showcasing the current state of renovations at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium. In a short clip posted on social media, you can see the completed parking area decorated in the traditional blue and garnet colors, as well as an updated boulevard surrounding the arena. The video also features the pitch, stands, and a modern video monitor.
The club’s management has made no secret of its desire to return to its home stadium as soon as possible, but an exact date has yet to be set. The upcoming home matches, including games against Girona in La Liga and Olympiacos in the Champions League, will be held at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc.
Originally, the team planned to host opponents at the renovated stadium this season. However, the club has yet to receive permission from Barcelona’s city authorities to put the venue into operation. The municipality stresses it will only give approval once there is full confidence in the safety of spectators and staff.
The club has also decided not to rush the opening. Initially, the option of launching the stands and the sector behind the goal (Phase 1A) was considered, which would accommodate 27,000 fans. Now, however, management is waiting for approval for the next stage (Phase 1B) to increase capacity to 45,000.
While the team still has no confirmed date for returning to their home stadium, fans have been offered season tickets for 2025-2026. These passes are valid for matches held both at the Olympic Stadium and for future games at Spotify Camp Nou.
