Queen Letizia and Her Daughters Turn Heads in Denim During Valdesoto Visit

Queen Letizia’s Family Outing: Jeans, Rumors, and the Future of the Monarchy

The royal family visited an exemplary village. Queen Letizia showcased an elegant look, while her daughters also caught everyone’s eye. The visit took place in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

The royal family, accompanied by their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, visited Valdesoto in Siero, which has been named the ‘Model Village of 2025.’ Their visit became a true celebration, blending tradition and modernity. Against a backdrop of decorated hórreos, with the sound of bagpipes and surrounded by locals in historical costumes showcasing traditional crafts, Queen Letizia appeared in an outfit that perfectly balanced comfort, practicality, and elegance, suited for the rural setting.

For this occasion, she chose a dark blue knitted jacket with tortoiseshell buttons and patch pockets, paired with dark straight-leg jeans. This style is a staple in her wardrobe during informal trips. The look was completed with Soe alpaca-colored loafers with a wool lining by Spanish brand Pedro Garcia and a matching handbag. Later, while talking with villagers, the queen threw on a classic trench coat—a timeless piece she has worn before. Loose hair and minimal jewelry highlighted the simplicity of her daytime style.

Her look was in perfect harmony with her daughters’ outfits. Leonor wore a denim jumpsuit and a vintage suede jacket in Parisian style. Sofía opted for lighter jeans and a gray jacket with front pockets. Their appearance created an impression of a carefully coordinated family aesthetic.

Letizia’s choice of attire for the trip to Valdesoto stood in subtle contrast to the outfit she wore at the Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony the previous evening. There, she dazzled in a black midi dress by Sybilla, featuring a strapless bodice covered with a silk veil and airy sleeves. Earrings by Crisogono and a black clutch completed her look, once again affirming her status as an icon of institutional style through a blend of restraint, clean lines, and refined details.

The visit took place after a weekend rich in symbolism. At the Campoamor Theatre, Princess Leonor became the central figure of the most significant awards ceremony since taking on her official role. Her speech, structured as letters to the laureates, surprised many with its personal tone and direct references to themes such as education, empathy, and respect.

One especially memorable moment came when, looking at Sofia, she mentioned the Williams sisters, noting that sisters in crime are the best companions in life. The phrase, greeted with applause, effortlessly highlighted the close bond between the girls and the role Sofia is beginning to play at her sister’s events. The King, for his part, emphasized the institutional aspect, declaring it was time for him to step aside for the heir to the throne, clearly signaling a gradual transfer of the leading role to Leonor.

Twenty years after Letizia was unable to attend the ceremony while heavily pregnant with the heir, mother and daughters now share center stage together at the same awards that defined their story. Among stone houses, ox-drawn carts, and the nostalgic sound of bagpipes, they concluded several momentous days, projecting an image of continuity, family unity, and aesthetic harmony that marked both the official ceremonies and their visit to the “Model Village.”
