A large gathering of Se Acabó la Fiesta (SALF) supporters took place last Sunday at Madrid’s Palacio de Vistalegre arena. The headline of the evening was the official announcement by Alvise Pérez, the party leader, of his intention to run for head of government in the general elections scheduled for 2027.
The crowd of about four thousand welcomed Pérez’s statement with rapturous applause. For many in attendance, it confirmed the politician’s serious ambitions, as he had recently achieved notable success on the European stage—his party secured three seats in the European Parliament in the 2024 elections. Now, the SALF leader has his sights set on the national level and openly declares his presidential aspirations.
The event at Vistalegre marked not only the start of a new campaign but also showcased the growing support for far-right ideas in Spain. The atmosphere in the arena resembled a sporting event rather than a political meeting: flags, slogans, passionate speeches, and loud music. Pérez, making broad promises, vowed to transform the country’s political landscape and challenge the established parties.
SALF’s plans for the upcoming years are not yet fully disclosed, but it is already clear that the party is preparing for a large-scale election campaign. In the near future, new announcements and events are expected, likely to draw even more attention to Pérez and his movement. The Spanish political scene appears to be bracing for another major test.
