In the city of Ronda (province of Málaga), National Police officers have arrested a 42-year-old driver suspected of systematically stealing clothing worth around 17,000 euros. According to investigators, the man had been appropriating part of the merchandise he was supposed to deliver to a local clothing store for several months.
The investigation began after store representatives noticed that some of their products were being sold on a popular second-hand platform. Management paid attention to regular shortages during deliveries: the driver often reported problems with shipments and promised to deliver the missing boxes later, but similar incidents kept happening, making it difficult to accurately track incoming goods.
During the inspection, it was discovered that an account belonging to a man who lived in another town in the province of Málaga was selling women’s clothing of the same brand as the affected store. The product photos showed a woman trying on the clothes, but her face was always concealed.
Police determined that the driver responsible for the deliveries had repeatedly failed to deliver part of the boxes to the store, citing various issues. As a result, he took 525 items of clothing from a well-known brand, which then ended up with a woman and her son. They posted ads for the items using the app, with the woman modeling the clothing in the photos.
As a result, law enforcement detained the driver on suspicion of committing a series of thefts. A woman and her 25-year-old son, who were involved in selling the stolen goods, were also arrested on charges of purchasing stolen property. All three are currently under investigation, and police continue to clarify the details of the case and identify any other possible participants in the scheme.
This case once again highlights the need for stricter control over logistics and deliveries, as well as the risks associated with the online sale of stolen goods.
