A real ticket frenzy has erupted in the Spanish capital: access to coveted passes for the Formula 1 Grand Prix was limited to just a couple of minutes. As soon as the pre-sale began, all tickets were snapped up instantly, leaving over 235,000 people without a chance to buy. Such excitement hasn’t been seen even at the most high-profile sports events in recent years.
The first tickets were available only to American Express cardholders and could be purchased on the dedicated Madring.com website. Sales opened on the morning of September 15 and were supposed to last a week, but all spots were taken within just two minutes. Now, thousands of motorsport fans have to wait their turn, hoping to get lucky during the next sales phase.
The general public will only be able to buy tickets starting September 23. By then, there will be no card type restrictions, and not just standard seats, but also VIP zones and tickets for the stands and hospitality areas will go on sale. Organizers warn: demand is so high that tickets may disappear in just seconds.
The Spanish Grand Prix will take place in Madrid from September 11 to 13, 2026. The new circuit, named Madring, will stretch 5.4 kilometers and feature 22 turns. The track will be set around the Ifema Madrid exhibition center and reach into the Valdebebas area. In its debut year, the Madrid race will run alongside the Montmeló round, whose future remains uncertain as the contract with Barcelona expires in 2026.
Such strong interest in the event highlights how important motorsport is becoming for the capital and the entire country. Madrid is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors, and local authorities are already calling the upcoming Grand Prix one of the most anticipated events of the year. Ahead are new records and, perhaps, new traditions for Spanish fans.
