In the province of Cáceres, in the Campo Arañuelo area, the Civil Guard found a baby who had disappeared the previous evening from the town of Navalmoral de la Mata. The boy was discovered on a remote farm, where, according to investigators, he had been taken by a couple—a 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman. Both suspects have been arrested and are in custody.
The incident took place on the evening of October 25. The child’s mother was at a local establishment with a woman who, as later turned out, was the suspected kidnapper. At one point, the mother had to step out briefly, leaving her child in the care of her acquaintance. When she returned, both the woman and the baby were gone. Unable to reach her, the mother immediately contacted the police.
Officers launched an immediate search, enlisting local services and mounting a large-scale operation. During the investigation, it became clear that the suspect had not acted alone—her partner was also involved in the kidnapping. The couple fled together with the child, which made the search even more difficult as there was very little information about them.
Despite the challenging circumstances, police managed to track down the kidnappers. They were found on an isolated farm in the rural area of Campo Arañuelo. The baby was with the suspects and, fortunately, was unharmed. After being rescued, the child was taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed that he was in good health.
Investigators are currently working to determine the motive behind the abduction and the circumstances that allowed the couple to take the child. In the coming days, the court is expected to decide on pre-trial measures for those detained. Local residents are shocked by the incident but relieved that it ended safely for the child.
