
Javier Manrique has passed away at the age of 56. He was well known to audiences for his roles in popular Spanish films and TV series. His sudden passing came as a shock to fans and colleagues. Manrique was born in Lima in 1968, but dedicated most of his life to the Spanish stage and screen.
He began his acting career in his youth and never left the stage or film sets since. In the 1990s, Manrique first appeared on television, playing several small roles in the series “Farmacia de guardia.” Later, he was cast in more prominent projects, becoming a recognizable face on Spanish TV.
The actor gained particular popularity for his work in the comedy series “Camera café,” where he portrayed Lorenzo. Manrique also took part in projects such as “A las once en casa” and “Turno de oficio: diez años después.” He could be seen on the big screen in films like “El día de la bestia,” “Las brujas de Zugarramurdi,” and “Mi gran noche,” directed by renowned filmmaker Álex de la Iglesia.
In the early 2000s, Manrique played the lead role in the series “Jacinto Durante, representante,” appearing as a manager working with little-known artists. His filmography also includes work with directors such as Álvaro Fernández Armero, José Luis Cuerda, and the duo Alfonso Albacete and David Menkes.
In addition to acting, in recent years Manrique focused on developing his own talent agency. His contribution to Spanish culture is recognized by colleagues and fans alike, for whom his passing has been a real shock. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
