The Flores artistic clan finds itself in the spotlight once again, this time thanks to an intimate new project. The documentary “Flores para Antonio” is a poignant tribute to the unforgettable singer and songwriter Antonio Flores. The critically acclaimed film explores his life, with a special focus on his relationships and marriage to Ana Villa, the mother of his only daughter.

The driving force behind this cinematic homage is their daughter, Alba Flores, now a well-known actress in her own right. She initiated the project to preserve the memory of a father she barely knew—he passed away at 33—for future generations. The process of making the film became a form of therapy for the entire family, sparking conversations that sisters Lolita and Rosario had long wanted to have about their brother. For Alba, sifting through boxes of old recordings kept under the bed turned into a revelation, allowing her to piece together a multifaceted portrait of her father.
Although Antonio Flores’ romantic escapades often made headlines, his bond with Ana Villa was unique. This love gave him his daughter Alba and inspired one of the most moving songs in his repertoire, named after her. These relationships were his anchor in a life marked by creative highs and personal turmoil.
The civil wedding ceremony took place on March 19, 1986, at the Pradillo registry office in Madrid. It was a modest family affair, far removed from the media frenzy that usually surrounded other events in the clan’s life. Still, it was impossible to miss the radiant Lola Flores, proudly watching her only son’s wedding in a striking green dress. The groom was visibly nervous, keeping his gray tie in his pocket until the last moment. Ana Villa, who was pregnant at the time, later emphasized that they married out of deep love, not because of the circumstances. Following tradition, after the ceremony, she tossed her bouquet to a young Rosario.

On October 27 of the same year, the couple welcomed a daughter, Alba. Despite their deep bond, the marriage lasted only two years. Antonio struggled with recurring addiction, but eventually found the strength to return to his art, triumphantly rebooting his career with the timeless album “Cosas mías.” Meeting Ana proved to be a turning point for the 24-year-old artist, who admitted he was tired of nightlife and found greater meaning in the comforts of home.
Ana Villa has always kept a low profile. Today, she works as a theater producer and maintains close ties with the Flores family, who still lovingly consider her Antonio’s widow. Her involvement, along with the help of Lolita’s ex-husband, Guillermo Furiase, who preserved many archival videos, proved vital in making the film “Flores para Antonio.”
RUSSPAIN Reference. Antonio González Flores (1961-1995) was a renowned Spanish singer, songwriter, and actor, and a representative of a famous artistic dynasty.
