A scandal has erupted in Alicante involving a 43-year-old woman who, without any medical qualifications, was performing cosmetic procedures at home. One of her clients contacted the police after developing serious health problems following hyaluronic acid injections.
The woman found the ‘specialist’ through an ad on a popular social network, where the latter presented herself as an aesthetic doctor. The patient believed she was seeing a professional, but during the procedure noticed that the apartment conditions were far from medical standards. Despite her doubts, she went through with the procedure, paying 1,200 euros.
A few days after the injections, the victim experienced severe swelling of her lips and oral cavity. Her condition deteriorated to the point where she was unable to eat normally for nearly a month, and visible marks remained on her face. She required urgent medical attention.
After receiving the complaint, the police quickly identified the suspect. It turned out she had neither specialized training nor a license to perform such procedures. All manipulations were carried out at home without adhering to sanitary standards. As a result, the woman was detained on suspicion of fraud, illegal medical practice, and causing bodily harm. The case has already been transferred to the Alicante court.
