An unusual scene unfolded in one of Guadalajara’s parks: passersby noticed a couple with an infant, who were clearly looking for ways to acquire illegal substances. Their behavior aroused suspicion, and one of the witnesses decided to take action—a call with an alarming report was made to the police.
The patrol arrived almost immediately. The man, spotting the approaching officers, tried to escape while holding the baby. He insisted that his documents were with relatives and suggested going together to clarify matters. However, on the way, he suddenly took off running, still carrying the child. The chase was brief—police quickly caught up with him, taking care not to endanger the child.
After checking their identities, officers discovered that the woman who was with him was wanted in Catalunya on suspicion of kidnapping her own son. It turned out she had no legal custody rights, yet had taken the baby and left with him. The man was charged with disobeying police.
As a result, both adults were detained and handed over to the authorities. The infant, at the heart of this story, was transferred to social services. All necessary protection procedures were launched for his safety. The situation sparked significant public outcry among local residents, as it concerned the fate of a very young child put at risk by adults’ actions.
