In Spain, experts are increasingly reporting one of the typical problems found in diesel vehicles. Attention was drawn to this issue by mechanic Juanjo Jiménez, who shared his observations about characteristic engine noises on his TikTok España page.
According to him, many diesel car owners notice an unusual noise that signals injector malfunctions. The reason is that injector fastenings are exposed to constant temperature changes over time. As a result, the studs holding the parts gradually stretch, and the injectors start to shift.
As this process continues, some combustion products escape through the gap between the cylinder and the injector. Soot builds up around the part, which can be spotted during a visual inspection. This situation is typical for most modern diesel engines currently in use in Spain.
The expert notes that promptly visiting a service center can help drivers avoid significant expenses. If a driver responds to unfamiliar noises and quickly sees a mechanic, repairs are relatively inexpensive. However, ignoring the problem allows soot to continue accumulating, leading to costlier and more extensive repairs.
In some cases, if the issue persists, the entire area around the injector becomes covered with a thick layer of carbon deposits. This complicates disassembly and restoration, and also increases repair costs. Jiménez emphasizes that such cases are found not only in certain models, but in most diesel vehicles operated throughout the country.
Therefore, diesel car owners are advised to pay close attention to any changes in engine performance. Timely diagnostics and repairs help prevent serious consequences and keep the vehicle operational.
