AVM’s New Development: Key Information
At the IFA 2025 exhibition in Berlin, German company AVM introduced a new addition to its lineup of network equipment. The product in question is the FRITZ!Repeater 1700, positioned as an affordable solution for extending wireless network coverage in homes and offices. The device supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard and targets users seeking a balance between price and functionality.
Technical Specifications and Features
The FRITZ!Repeater 1700 is equipped with a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 module, enabling it to operate simultaneously on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Each band uses a 2 x 2 configuration, delivering data transfer speeds up to 2,880 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. A gigabit LAN port is provided for wired connections. Connection security is ensured with WPA3 protocol support, and WPS functionality is available for quick synchronization with a router. The device integrates with AVM’s free apps and is fully compatible with the proprietary FRITZ!OS operating system.
Comparison with Other Models
The AVM lineup already includes the FRITZ!Repeater 2700, which offers higher performance. Specifically, it uses a 4 x 4 configuration on the 5 GHz band, reaching speeds up to 5,760 Mbps. Additionally, the higher-end version features a LAN port supporting speeds up to 2.5 Gbps, which is relevant for users with high-speed internet. At the same time, if your connection does not exceed 1 Gbps, the new FRITZ!Repeater 1700 appears to be a more practical choice.
Compatibility and Integration
Both models support all key Wi-Fi 7 advantages, work with free FRITZ!Apps, and are integrated into the FRITZ!OS ecosystem. This ensures convenient network management and configuration, as well as compatibility with other AVM devices.
Expected price and release date
The exact price of the FRITZ!Repeater 1700 for the Spanish market has not yet been announced. Preliminary estimates suggest the price may range from 110 to 120 euros. The release date is also still unknown, but the new product has already attracted interest from both private users and small business representatives.
