A new subscription for individuals and professionals
Microsoft has announced the launch of Microsoft 365 Premium—a subscription combining the Copilot AI tools and familiar Office applications. The new offering targets individuals, professionals, and small businesses who need modern solutions for productive work and collaborative projects. The company notes that this product will be the most functional option for those looking to leverage AI in their daily tasks.
Microsoft 365 Premium: Key features and pricing
The subscription costs $19.99 per month, comparable to OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus plan. The package includes increased limits for image and voice generation using GPT-4o, plus access to Copilot Podcasts, Deep Research, Vision, and Actions. Users receive all the benefits of the Microsoft 365 Family subscription: access to Office apps for six people, one terabyte of OneDrive cloud storage per person, and additional collaboration tools.
Copilot integration and advanced capabilities
Microsoft aims to make Copilot an integral part of both the professional and personal lives of its users. Previously, Copilot Pro was more expensive as it required a separate payment in addition to the standard subscription. Now, artificial intelligence features are integrated into a single product, making it more accessible to a wider audience. In addition to access to GPT-5 and increased limits for messaging, file uploads, data analysis, and image creation, users benefit from Copilot integration in office applications and expanded cloud storage.
Flexibility and additional options for existing customers
Microsoft emphasizes that the new subscription is suitable for both home and work use. In a corporate environment, users get additional tools for data protection. The company has also simplified the transition between different plans, including migration from basic, personal, and family plans to the new Premium. For those who choose to remain on their current plan, there are bonuses: the ability to create up to 40 images in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Copilot, unlimited use of Copilot Voice, as well as access to Podcasts, Vision, and Deep Research features.
