Spain Hosts €72 Million Draw: New Record Euromillions Jackpot. On May 12, Spain is holding a Euromillions draw featuring a record jackpot of €72 million. The main prize was not won last Friday. In Padrón, one participant received more than €12,000.
Today, May 12, the Euromillones draw is taking place in Spain with a record spring jackpot of 72 million euros. Such a large prize became possible after there was no first-category winner in the previous draw. This means that no ticket matched all five main numbers and two stars, and the entire amount rolled over to the next draw.
At the same time, according to the organizers, a significant third-category win was recorded in Spain. One ticket, purchased in Padrón (A Coruña), brought its owner 12,596.37 euros for matching five numbers without stars. The winning numbers from last Friday were: 4, 26, 32, 35, 36, and the stars — 5 and 7. In the additional El Millón game, the winning code was BZN58201.
Rules and entry cost
A single Euromillones bet costs a minimum of 2.5 euros. To participate in both weekly draws — on Tuesdays and Fridays — you will need at least 5 euros. Tickets can be purchased at official sales points until 20:30 on the day of the draw, and online purchases close at 19:00. Both single and multiple bets are available.
Draw features and payouts
The main feature of Euromillones is the absence of a fixed jackpot amount: the prize size depends on the accumulated pool and can grow significantly if there is no winner. The minimum guaranteed prize is 17 million euros. Participation is open from any country if permitted by local laws. Prizes can be claimed both at sales points and online, but this must be done within three months after the draw—after this period, tickets and prizes are void.
How the game works
To participate, you need to choose five numbers from 1 to 50 and two stars from 12 possible options. Each ticket contains five playing grids. In addition to the main draw, every participant automatically gets a chance to win one million euros in the additional Spanish game "El Millón."
Types of winnings
Even if you don’t match all the numbers and stars, prizes are provided for other combinations: from five numbers and one star to one number and two stars. The payout size depends on the number of matches and the total prize pool, which is formed from ticket sales.
