The crash claimed the lives of a 27-year-old resident of L'Espluga de Francolí and a 50-year-old man from El Pont d'Armentera, both residents of Tarragona province. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

Three patrols of the Mossos d'Esquadra, four Bombers de la Generalitat fire brigades, and three SEM ambulances responded to the scene. Rescuers had to extract the victims from the wrecked vehicles.
