Under the skin, the Perla Nera shares its main structure with the rest of the 33 Stradale series. The car uses a carbon fibre monocoque and an H-shaped aluminium chassis, developed with the Maserati MC20. Power comes from a Maserati-sourced twin-turbo V6. It makes 620 horsepower, sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Some reviews, like Car and Driver, list the output at 630 horsepower. The difference depends on the source and market. Alfa Romeo has said an all-electric 750 horsepower version was considered, but none have been built.
