Sandra Barneda and Pascalle Paerel married at Barneda’s estate in Candeleda on October 10, 2026. More than 150 guests attended a ceremony held mostly in English.

The couple exchanged vows at Barneda’s country estate in Candeleda, Ávila province, on October 10, 2026. More than 150 guests attended the outdoor civil ceremony, where Spanish and Dutch traditions shared the same setting. An invited guest’s social media post later revealed the event’s most closely guarded detail: the wedding dresses.

Privacy shaped the day, though the ceremony still carried a public signature. It was conducted almost entirely in English, followed by an extensive cocktail reception. Carlos Latre officiated.

The schedule was tight. Barneda and Paerel announced their engagement on July 28, then married 74 days later. The short preparation window did not prevent a carefully arranged celebration.

Barneda and Paerel met through a dating app, and their first meeting was a blind date in Paris.

The emotional centre of the day was the couple themselves.

Barneda entered with her parents. Later, her sister and several of Paerel’s friends read the vows. Verónica Dulanto described the women as soulmates outside the estate, a phrase that matched the ease between them as they looked at each other and smiled.

The couple had already announced their plans on social media: “The best ‘yes’ of our lives is still ahead. We are getting married.” It was their first official public announcement about the marriage.

Barneda’s dress was made exclusively for her by Arnaud Maillard and Álvaro Castejón, the designers behind Alvarno and friends of the presenter. The sleeveless ivory gown followed her preference for restraint, with a cascading neckline and a fluid silhouette. A cape attached at the neck replaced a conventional veil and added movement without making the look theatrical.

Candeleda was more than a wedding venue: the ceremony took place at Barneda’s country home in the Sierra de Gredos, where Paerel reportedly proposed. El Mundo also reported that the couple associated the date 10.10.2026 with the symbolism of 111 and the idea of a new beginning.

Her navy-blue flat shoes brought the strongest contrast to the outfit. They also suited an outdoor ceremony, where comfort mattered alongside the clean lines of the dress.

Paerel chose a different silhouette. Her gown had a halter neckline that extended into a long train. Draping across the bodice softened the shape and gave it movement. A veil sat over a discreet low bun, while a white fan completed the look despite the October setting.

Candeleda had a role in the relationship before it became the wedding site. An earlier report focused on the Ávila village as the setting for the couple’s plans. Barneda’s country home in the Sierra de Gredos was also where Paerel reportedly proposed.

Barneda has long used the area as a retreat from television work. Local landscapes also influenced her literary activity, including one of her books.

The relationship developed across borders. In its early period, Paerel divided her time between the Netherlands and Spain. She later remained based in Amsterdam while Barneda worked in Madrid. The couple had been together for around four years by the wedding.

In a 2025 interview with Universo Calleja, Barneda said Paerel brought her “a lot of calm”. It remains one of Barneda’s clearest public comments about the personal side of their relationship.

The celebration continued after the ceremony with a long cocktail and a post-wedding gathering for the couple’s closest circle on Sunday. Barneda had insisted on large paella pans so guests could relax, eat together and revisit the previous day. The format kept attention on shared time rather than spectacle.

According to Infobae, the guest list brought together relatives, friends and colleagues from Barneda’s television world and Paerel’s professional circle connected to the Dutch National Ballet. The wedding therefore crossed the couple’s private and working lives.

El Mundo reported that Barneda and Paerel linked the date 10.10.2026 to the symbolism of 111 and the idea of a new beginning.

The honeymoon will wait because of Barneda’s professional commitments.
