GWM has opened Spanish orders for the 4.80-metre Haval H7, offered with five powertrains and up to 150 km of electric range. The €28,000 entry price depends on discounts and financing.

At 4.80 metres long and more than 1.90 metres wide, the Haval H7 stands over 1.80 metres high, with up to 210 mm of ground clearance. The large family SUV is now open for orders in Spain. Its plug-in Hi4 version produces 435 CV and reaches 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

That top model combines four-wheel lead with a claimed electric range of 129 km on the combined WLTP cycle, rising to 168 km on the urban cycle. The front-wheel-lead PHEV Hi2 has 326 CV and claims up to 150 km combined or 202 km in urban WLTP testing. Those are test-cycle figures, not a promise of the same range in everyday driving.

There are five powertrains in all. The sole non-electrified choice is a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 215 CV and paired with four-wheel lead. The self-charging HEV makes 247 CV, with front-wheel lead in the Hi2 and an electric motor at each axle in the all-wheel-lead Hi4. The two plug-in versions use the same Hi2 and Hi4 lead layouts, with different outputs. Motor16 reports hybrid fuel consumption as low as 6.5 L/100 km and emissions of 147 g/km, figures it links to Spain’s ECO classification.

Ground clearance reaches 210 mm, while the most off-road-capable versions are rated to wade through up to 380 mm of water. The wheelbase is 2.74 metres. These figures give the H7 more off-road hardware than its family-SUV shape alone might suggest.

The Spanish price list starts at €28,000 for the front-wheel-lead HEV Explore Hi2. That figure includes discounts and financing, with a €2,250 advance under Plan Auto+ through Banco Cetelem. The offer is stated to run until 31 October 2026 and applies to private buyers eligible for the aid. The published campaign prices cover seven listed configurations, from the HEV Explore Hi2 at €28,000 to the PHEV Advance Hi4 at €34,125.

  • 2.0T Advance 4WD: €32,500
  • HEV Explore Hi2: €28,000
  • HEV Advance Hi2: €30,000
  • HEV Advance Hi4: €32,500
  • PHEV Explore Hi2: €29,625
  • PHEV Advance Hi2: €31,625
  • PHEV Advance Hi4: €34,125

Both Explore versions fall below €30,000 on those terms. Buyers should check eligibility and the financing conditions before treating the advertised starting price as their final cost.

Inside, the H7 gets a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 15.6-inch basic screen running GWM's Coffee OS 3.0. Higher trims add a Head-Up Display. Their front seats offer electric adjustment and lumbar support with up to four settings. Heating and ventilation are also available, and the steering wheel can be heated.

GWM is entering a busy Chinese-brand segment that includes SUVs from Omoda and Jaecoo. The recently introduced LEPAS L8 is another plug-in hybrid in the mix. For a separate family-SUV comparison, see RUSSPAIN's Renault Espace test.
