Honor has introduced the Robot Phone, a flagship device featuring a 200 MP camera mounted on a robotic arm that extends from the phone’s body. The model will be available in China from August 18, starting at 9,999 yuan. The launch marks a new step in mobile imaging technology.

Honor has officially presented the Honor Robot Phone, a device that redefines mobile photography by integrating a 200-megapixel camera onto a mechanical arm that emerges from the rear of the phone. Announced on August 12, 2026, after earlier previews at the MWC in Barcelona, the Robot Phone stands out for its unique approach to stabilization and camera movement, targeting users who prioritize advanced video and content creation.

The core innovation is a principal camera mounted on a robotic arm with four degrees of freedom, supported by a three-axis mechanical gimbal. This system, called the Titanium Agile Gimbal, is built from over 100 precision components and can rotate at up to 360 degrees per second in certain scenarios. When not in use, the camera sits flush with the phone, functioning like a standard smartphone lens.

Advanced Camera System

The main sensor delivers 200 megapixels with a 1/1.28-inch format and f/1.6 aperture, accompanied by a 200 MP periscope lens offering 2.7x optical zoom. A 50 MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view completes the setup. This hardware is designed for users who demand flexibility and professional-level video capabilities, with the robotic arm enabling automatic tracking, dynamic framing, and smooth camera movements without external stabilizers.

Cinematic Features with ARRI Collaboration

Honor developed the imaging system in partnership with ARRI, a leader in professional cinema technology. The Robot Phone supports ARRI LogC3 10-bit recording and uses the ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color space, along with ARRI Looks profiles and workflows compatible with editing suites like DaVinci Resolve. The device also features the Honor H1 image chip for advanced processing.

Six stabilization modes are available, tailored for different shooting scenarios—from walking shots to rotational pans. The phone can automatically keep a subject in frame during video recording, live streaming, or video calls, depending on app compatibility. Some features will be rolled out via OTA updates, and certain functions are initially limited to services available in China.

YOYO Mode: Intelligent Robotic Assistant

Beyond stabilization, the robotic arm powers the YOYO Robot mode, which combines gesture recognition, multimodal perception, and physical movement. The camera can respond to user commands, follow a person, or move in sync with music. Honor has enabled the system to interpret instructions and perform tasks across compatible apps, expanding the phone’s role as an interactive assistant.

YOYO can automatically adjust framing to keep a moving subject centered, and users can create custom skills that leverage the gimbal’s capabilities. While some smart features are tied to Chinese apps and services, the Robot Phone signals a shift toward more physically interactive smartphones.

Flagship Hardware and Pricing

Under the hood, the Honor Robot Phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform and a 7,060 mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 120 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. The 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display offers adaptive refresh rates from 1 to 120 Hz. In China, the 12 GB RAM/512 GB storage version is priced at 9,999 yuan, while the 16 GB RAM/1 TB model costs 12,999 yuan. Pre-orders began on August 12, with sales starting August 18, 2026.

As of now, the Robot Phone does not appear on Honor’s Spanish website, and there is no confirmed pricing or release date for Spain. The device’s launch highlights the growing intersection of robotics and mobile imaging, with Honor positioning itself at the forefront of this trend.
