HTW introduces VITEC, a vitrified aerothermal accumulator for homes and businesses. The system offers significant energy savings and advanced integration options. It is available in four sizes and supports both photovoltaic and solar thermal energy.

HTW, part of Gestión Integral de Almacenes (GIA Group), has unveiled VITEC, a new aerothermal water heater designed for both residential and commercial use. The system stands out for its ability to cut electricity consumption for domestic hot water by up to 75% compared to traditional electric heaters. With energy class A+, a COP of up to 4.19, and a SCOP of 3.94 in warm climates, VITEC is positioned as a high-efficiency solution for properties seeking to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.

The VITEC range includes four tank capacities—100, 150, 200, and 300 liters—making it suitable for a wide variety of installations, from single-family homes to hotels and offices. The unit uses an air-to-water heat pump to extract energy from ambient air and transfer it to the water storage tank. This process is supported by a high-efficiency microchannel heat exchanger, which maximizes thermal transfer per unit volume and contributes to the system's overall performance.

Durability and low maintenance are key features of the VITEC design. The storage tank is made from vitrified steel with wall thicknesses between 1.8 and 2.5 mm. It incorporates a dual anti-corrosion system: an electronic anode that does not require regular replacement, and a magnesium anode that provides backup protection in case of power outages. The use of natural refrigerant R290 aligns the product with current environmental standards for climate control and hot water systems. VITEC also holds Keymark, CE, ERP, REACH, and RoHS certifications, confirming compliance with European safety, efficiency, and quality regulations.

Remote management is built in, with standard Wi-Fi connectivity allowing users to control the system via the GiApp application. Modbus communication is also included for integration with building automation or technical management systems. The Smart Grid Ready function enables the unit to operate during lower-cost energy periods, while an automatic defrost cycle ensures stable performance even in low outdoor temperatures.

All VITEC models are compatible with photovoltaic energy, and the 200- and 300-liter versions can also be integrated with solar thermal systems. The technical design features an electronic expansion valve, hydrophilic fin evaporator, four-way solenoid valve, Highly compressor, and microchannel condenser. The tank is insulated with 50 mm of polyurethane foam to minimize heat loss, and an anti-legionella cycle heats water to 70°C to maintain hygiene. Designed for indoor installation, the system can operate as quietly as 42 dB. Installation requires a solid, well-ventilated base, with optional air ducting (Ø 160 mm), and supports water pressures from 0.15 to 0.8 MPa. The package includes a safety valve, drainage, and photovoltaic cable for flexible adaptation to different hot water setups.

In Spain, the adoption of aerothermal technology has accelerated in recent years, driven by rising energy costs and stricter efficiency regulations. Systems like VITEC are increasingly favored in new builds and renovations, especially where integration with renewable energy sources is a priority. According to industry data, the use of natural refrigerants such as R290 is becoming standard in the sector, reflecting both regulatory requirements and consumer demand for sustainable solutions. The combination of advanced connectivity, compatibility with solar energy, and robust anti-corrosion measures positions VITEC as a competitive option for property owners looking to modernize their hot water infrastructure while controlling long-term costs.
