Ikea shoppers in Catalonia can buy the white Hauga sideboard for €149, €50 below its usual price. The discount runs until August 31 or while stocks last, and applies only at Ikea Catalunya stores, not nationwide.
Ikea is phasing out the old Hauga model (reference 604.072.66) and introducing a new version (reference 406.214.89). The new sideboard is almost the same size, but the interior layout has changed: instead of four drawers and two cabinets, it has one drawer, tempered glass doors and open shelves. On September 1, 2026, IKEA announced price reductions of up to 25% on more than 1,500 products across Europe, Le Figaro reported.
If you want hidden storage, the outgoing Hauga is the better fit. It has four drawers and two side cabinets with adjustable shelves, useful for organizing dinnerware, paperwork and other things you want out of sight. The top surface can hold lamps or family photos. The new model is designed to display items: glass doors show off dishes or books, while open shelves keep everyday belongings within reach. It has just one drawer for tucked-away storage.
Ikea’s technical sheet lists particleboard and fiberboard, along with paper foil and acrylic paint, among the materials. The unit also has tempered glass doors. The single drawer holds up to four kilos; the small shelves hold up to nine, and the large shelves up to eighteen. Ikea recommends anchoring the unit to the wall for safety, especially in homes with children. It comes in three separate packages, a factor for homes with tight hallways or small apartments.
The €149 price applies only in Catalonia and only to the outgoing model. The official outlet page says the discount runs from June 25 to August 31, 2026, or until stocks run out. The rest of Spain will get only the new €199 version, with no sign of a similar markdown elsewhere.
Choosing between the models depends on what you need. The old Hauga keeps belongings out of sight and dust-free, making it practical for spaces around the home, from dining rooms and entryways to bedrooms or home offices. Its all-white finish suits many décor styles. The new version lets you display favorite items behind glass, trading some hidden storage for a more open look. Both are part of the Hauga series by Ola Wihlborg and can be combined with other pieces from the collection.
As the last classic Hauga units leave Catalan stores, shoppers who prefer the original design have until the deadline to buy it at a discount. The €50 saving ends on August 31 or when stocks run out. After the old Hauga sells out, it will no longer be available at this price.
