Niña Pastori Performs for the Pope Again: A Special Appearance in Madrid. In Madrid, Niña Pastori performed the song “Incomparable” for Pope Leon XIV. This marked the singer’s second time performing before the pontiff in 23 years. The event was attended by staff and beneficiaries of the Cedia center.

A rare event took place in Madrid: renowned Spanish singer Niña Pastori performed again for the Pope, this time for Leon XIV. The event was held at the Cedia Meeting and Support Center, gathering several hundred staff and beneficiaries facing difficult life circumstances. For Niña Pastori, this was her second experience performing for a pontiff — her first was for John Paul II in 2003 at a mass event in Cuatro Vientos, where she performed her version of Ave María.

This time, Niña Pastori chose to perform the song “Incomparable” from the album “Bajo tus alas” (2018). The song was delivered in an intimate, almost confessional style, with its lyrics perceived as an address to Christ. After the performance, Pope Leon XIV highlighted the lyric “En cada sueño te busqué, en ninguno fue en balde,” linking it to the Gospel principle of helping one's neighbor from the Gospel of Matthew: any good deed done for those in need is seen as done for God Himself.

Among the artists who have performed before two different Popes, Niña Pastori now stands alongside names such as Andrea Bocelli, Plácido Domingo, José Feliciano, and José Carreras. This time, the audience was much smaller in number, but the atmosphere of the gathering was especially personal and meaningful for those present.

The work of the Cedia center, where the meeting took place, is focused on supporting people in difficult life situations. In his address, the Pope emphasized the importance of daily assistance and involvement in the lives of vulnerable groups. In Spain, such initiatives are receiving increasing attention, and the participation of well-known artists helps draw additional interest to them. In this context, it is worth noting that in Cádiz, a Canal Sur presenter was recently recognized for his contribution to supporting the elderly — you can learn more about this in the article about the Juan y Medio award ceremony.

For reference: Niña Pastori is one of the most famous flamenco and flamenco-fusion performers in Spain and a recipient of several national awards. Her work often intersects with themes of faith and social support. The Cedia center in Madrid works with people at risk, providing them not only with material but also psychological support. Such meetings, involving leading Church figures and well-known artists, highlight the importance of social support in modern Spain.
