Carlos Orellana: A New Life Away from Show Business and the Birth of His Grandchild. Carlos Orellana, former partner of Rosario Flores, has become a grandfather and has completely withdrawn from public life. He now runs biodanza schools in the Basque Country and maintains a relationship with his daughter.

In early June, an event in Rosario Flores' family once again drew attention to Carlos Orellana—the singer’s former partner and father of her eldest daughter, Lola. After the birth of the artist’s first grandchild, Orellana's name reappeared in the news, although he himself has preferred to remain out of the spotlight for many years.

Carlos Orellana and Rosario Flores met in Buenos Aires at the end of 1995, at a time when the singer was dealing with a heavy loss—the death of her mother and brother just two weeks apart. The Argentine dancer and model became a source of support for her, but their relationship was short-lived. In 1996, the couple’s daughter Lola was born, but just a year later, they announced their separation, attributing it to differences in worldview. Despite the breakup, both maintained a respectful relationship for their daughter’s sake.

After parting ways with Rosario Flores, Orellana gradually withdrew from public life. In the early 2000s, he still appeared on television, including the project Gran Hermano VIP, but then completely changed fields. He moved to Vitoria and devoted himself to Biodanza—a practice combining music, movement, and emotional work. Together with his partner Raquel Ampudia, he runs two Biodanza schools in the Basque Country, where he helps people through group sessions and individual processes.

Orellana's biography, published on his school's website, highlights his connection to his Argentine and Andean roots. From a young age, he was interested in spiritual practices and traveled through northern Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru, where he interacted with bearers of ancient traditions. This experience, he says, influenced his approach to the body, spirituality, and relationships with people.

Orellana arrived in Europe after personal upheavals in 1996. Soon after, he became one of the founders of the biodanza school in Vitoria-Gasteiz, where he still works today. In interviews with local media, he noted that it was biodanza that helped him recover after difficult periods in his life and find a new purpose.

Carlos Orellana now has two children with Raquel Ampudia, and despite the distance, he maintains a warm relationship with his daughter Lola. Lola chose a life away from the public eye and works in film, photography, and visual arts. She recently became a mother—her partner, musician Cosme Daniel de Juan, is raising their newborn son together with her. This event has brought joy to both branches of the family.

Rosario Flores openly shared her emotions about the birth of her grandson, posting a photo and words of gratitude. Orellana, on the other hand, chose not to make public statements, staying true to his style—rejoicing in family changes away from media attention.

The story of Carlos Orellana is an example of how former public figures find themselves in new fields while maintaining important family ties. Spanish media have repeatedly discussed the fates of partners of famous women, as was the case with María Jesús Montero, whose personal journey and life changes have also piqued public interest — for more details, see the article about the changes in the life of María Jesús Montero.

For reference: Biodanza is a movement that originated in Latin America in the 1960s and is now actively developing in Spain, especially in the northern regions. In the Basque Country, such schools are becoming increasingly popular among people seeking new forms of personal growth and recovery from stress. The family of Rosario Flores and Carlos Orellana remains an example of how respect and support can be preserved even after separation.
