The Aura, Lepas’s first concept vehicle, made its global debut at the LEPAS Global Elegance Night in Wuhu, China, on October 24, 2026. The presentation was part of the first LEPAS Global Elegant Lifestyle Week and the wider Chery International User Summit 2026, which brought together more than 500 international guests. With a low roofline and coupe-like fastback profile, the concept departs from Lepas’s public line-up, which is concentrated on SUVs. Lepas says the Aura’s proportions and design features could guide future models. A compact hatchback is planned for 2027.
That does not mean the Aura itself will reach production. GoAuto described it as a design study, and Lepas has not announced its powertrain or detailed interior information. Its long wheelbase and short overhangs suggest a focus on cabin space. The concept’s body has also been described as sitting between a shooting brake and a three-door hatchback.
The concept’s broad front end combines narrow headlights with a dark section that joins the grille and large air intakes. Pronounced wheel arches give the body a muscular look. Lepas describes the design approach as an evolution of its “Leopard Aesthetics” language. The Aura’s proportions, surfaces, lighting and colours are intended to influence next-generation models.
Personalisation also featured in the presentation. The exterior colours are Dawn Pearl, Bacalar Blue and Provence Twilight, a palette Lepas associates with its “Natural Energy” theme. Front and rear exterior screens can display custom graphics and lighting effects, including animations.
The SUV range currently includes the Lepas L8 and Lepas L6. The Lepas L4 is also part of the line-up. A traditional hatchback would give the brand a different body style, but Lepas has not said whether it will share the Aura’s design or confirmed details such as price and availability.
Concepts can preview a manufacturer’s design direction. Alfa Romeo used its Cuorerosso concept in a similar role, as covered in this earlier design report. For Lepas, the Aura is more clearly a styling reference than an announcement of a production car.
