Javier Milei left Madrid after a visit of less than 48 hours marked by attacks on Pedro Sánchez and protests at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Isabel Díaz Ayuso was his only political meeting.
Students at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos protested as Javier Milei arrived for an event with anarcho-capitalist economists. They objected to a public university inviting a politician who advocates a drastic reduction in state intervention.
The protests made the state’s role a central issue during the visit.
At a breakfast briefing, Milei attacked Pedro Sánchez, accusing him of corruption and authoritarianism. He called Sánchez an unfit dictator and used the diminutive Pedrito. The latest remarks came amid Milei’s public clashes with Sánchez, covered in an earlier report. The PSOE urged its electorate to take pride in being left-wing.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso was the only PP leader to meet Milei and pose for a photograph with him. The meeting had little institutional ceremony. Abascal cited scheduling problems and shared a video of his call with the Argentine president on social media.
Milei also met a foundation linked to Vox and reiterated his opposition to public aid. He left Spain after spending less than 48 hours in Madrid.
