As night fell, the festive procession wound through l’Alfàs del Pi, stopping at the homes of the children representing the fiestas. The 2026 programme scheduled the Nit d’Albaes for Thursday, 5 November, from 21:00, with the procession setting out from the municipal marquee. Officials and musicians accompanied the cantaores and cantaoras.
At each stop, the performers sang les albaes: poetic verses improvised exclusively in Valencian for each representative. After hearing the verses, members of the Corte de Honor Infantil joined the procession one by one until it reached the Reina de las Fiestas, Sofía Giménez Such, who received a tribute of her own. The children’s court comprises Sara Luengo Tormo, Noa Soler García, Lola Herrero Albacete, Martina Zaragoza López, Martina Saval Dueñas, Belén Lambrich Giménez, Martina Agulló Soler, María Seguí Savall, Martina Bernal Blasco and Eider López Martínez.
The event is organised by the Mayorales and Penya l’Impacte on the eve of the pregón. It is part of the Fiestas del Jubileo y del Santísimo Cristo del Buen Acierto, and gives the Queen and her court a central role at the start of the festivities. Cadena SER Radio Benidorm reported that the Mayorales had spent the preceding year preparing the celebrations. The main festival programme ran from 7 to 10 November 2026, following the Nit d’Albaes and the pregón on 6 November.
The large turnout included people from the festival community as well as visitors interested in the town’s cultural heritage. The albaes are among the acts most deeply rooted in l’Alfàs del Pi’s identity. Their street procession and personalised Valencian verses make the Queen and her court part of a longstanding local custom, described as one of the oldest expressions of Valencian popular culture and preserved in only a few towns.
In l’Alfàs, the custom is passed on to new generations through the annual celebration. The wider festival programme continued with a floral offering to the Santísimo Cristo del Buen Acierto on 8 November, a day dedicated to the Santísimo Sacramento on 9 November and the main observance of the Santísimo Cristo del Buen Acierto on 10 November.
