Alberto Núñez Feijóo said a pizza order could help a squatter remain in a home for years. Pedro Sánchez answered by resurfacing a 2010 pizza tweet as the PP turned the exchange into attacks involving Begoña Gómez.

At an event in Seville on 21 October 2026, People’s Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo invoked a pizza order to argue that a squatter could stay in a home for years. Pedro Sánchez responded on X that day, resurfacing a post about eating pizza with friends, published on 24 December 2010.

The old message named the restaurant Luna Rosa. It has circulated as a meme during Sánchez’s presidency, part of the large archive of posts he kept online before entering public life. In his reply, Sánchez recalled the post with an ironic reference to the day’s pizza talk.

Feijóo made the claim while setting out housing proposals. If elected, he said, his government would bring forward three housing laws in its first 100 days at La Moncloa: a new land law and an anti-occupation law, plus changes to the horizontal property law. He promised that under a PP government, squatters would be removed within 48 hours. Feijóo argued that current protections leave some homeowners paying bills for properties they cannot enter. The 48-hour timeline and proposed legislation were campaign commitments, not changes already in force.

The wider housing package also included a pledge to build one million homes, tax incentives for rentals and measures intended to help young people buy their first home. Feijóo presented the proposals as part of an effort to create a new generation of homeowners and restore legal certainty in the housing market.

The PP’s official X account answered Sánchez with a personal insinuation about Begoña Gómez and a business near the pizzeria. The post paired a photograph of Sánchez and Gómez kissing outside a venue marked as a sauna with a Google Maps image showing a one-minute distance between the pizzeria and the sauna.

Ester Muñoz, the PP’s spokeswoman in Congress, followed with a similar attack and questioned whether Sánchez’s father-in-law had financed his primary campaign. She also posted a Maps capture highlighting the two locations.

Sánchez has also changed his profile picture, replacing a more institutional portrait with a red design carrying a slogan about pride in left-wing identity. The wording echoes a term Javier Milei repeatedly uses disparagingly for left-wing people. Milei is visiting Spain on Wednesday and has met Madrid regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso; the visit follows Milei’s earlier criticism of Sánchez.
