Sharon Stone has revealed she has embraced celibacy, prioritizing genuine affection and companionship over fleeting encounters. At 68, the actress is clear about what she wants from love and why she is no longer interested in casual relationships.

Sharon Stone has made her position clear: she won’t settle for anything less than a real connection. At 68, she says her choice to remain celibate isn’t about giving up, but about protecting her own standards and emotional health. She’s direct—casual flings no longer interest her, and she’s not willing to compromise on what matters in a partner.

Stone spoke openly about this on the podcast Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown, pushing back against the idea that age or fame guarantees a satisfying love life. When asked about her current approach to relationships, she answered without hesitation: “I am a really good girlfriend, but I haven’t been one for a long time.” Her honesty cuts through the usual celebrity talk and gets at something more real.

Stone made her remarks about celibacy and her desire for meaningful relationships during the September 2026 episode of Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown.

Looking back, Stone describes her romantic life as a mix of “good luck, bad luck, and no luck at all.” Known for films like Instinto básico, she says her priorities have changed. “I have been celibate for quite some time because I have reached a point where I really only want to be with someone I appreciate,” she explained. For her, physical intimacy without a deeper bond no longer appeals.

Now that her children are grown, Stone is focused on finding a real companion. She’s clear: she wants a partner, not just a lover. “I am a bit bored with casual relationships,” she admitted. What once seemed exciting now feels empty.

Her perspective is shaped by experience, including marriages to journalist Phil Bronstein and producer Michael Greenburg. She sees being single not as a gap, but as a necessary pause before the kind of relationship she actually wants. Accepting this time alone, she says, is part of finding something meaningful.

According to several major entertainment outlets, Stone’s decision is also influenced by her family life: after her children became independent, she began to seek not just romance but a true companion. Her previous marriage to Phil Bronstein was marked by a lengthy and complex custody process involving their son Roan, which is often cited as a significant factor in her current views on relationships.

When asked if she’s ever met the great love of her life, Stone didn’t hesitate: “I have had loves in my life, but I don’t think I have had the great love of my life.” She says this without regret, refusing to romanticize the past or lower her hopes for the future.

Stone’s approach challenges the idea that happiness depends on being in a relationship at any cost. Her decision to remain celibate and wait for genuine affection is about self-respect, not withdrawal. In a culture that often ties worth to romantic status, her clarity stands out. For Stone, intimacy and partnership are choices, not obligations.
