Sony’s limited-edition Gran Turismo controller marks the series’ 30th anniversary in 2027. Preorders open on 22 October, ahead of a global launch on 10 December.
Sony announced the “DualSense: Edición Limitada Gran Turismo” on 14 October. The €84.99 controller is the first anniversary product the company has revealed for the series, which turns 30 in 2027.
Racing stripes and Gran Turismo graphics cover the controller. Its front panel has a textured carbon-fibre effect, drawing on motorsport and automotive engineering. Preorders open on 22 October at 10:00 local time through PlayStation and participating retailers. The limited-run controller goes on sale globally on 10 December.
Sony lists recommended prices of $84.99 in the US and ¥12,480 in Japan. The eurozone price is €84.99; in the UK, it is £74.99. Retailer prices may vary. European preorders are planned for the UK and France, Germany and Austria, Spain and Portugal, Italy and the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
The announcement lands a day before Gran Turismo 7’s first Spec IV update. It is scheduled for 15 October at 8:00 in mainland Spain, CEST. The update brings six cars and six new events in World Circuits. It also adds the Sportsland Sugo circuit, also known as Sugo Circuit. An internet connection is required to install it.
The six cars arrive in pairs: Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo and Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ’94; Honda Civic Si Group A version ’87 and Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo ’26; Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23 and Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston ’86.
Spec IV also adds Experience mode. New Scapes locations and changes to car-viewing features are part of the update as well.
The controller’s graphics are the first anniversary item PlayStation has announced. Sony Brand Manager David Robinson said the limited edition draws on the craftsmanship and engineering at the heart of Gran Turismo, and pays tribute to 30 years of “The Real Driving Simulator”. Polyphony Digital’s executive director said the design commemorates the series’ history and thanked fans whose enthusiasm continues to inspire the studio.
A second Spec IV update is due in December. It will add another six cars and Family mode. Races featuring randomly selected vehicles will come alongside online drift trials. The update also includes an updated version of the artificial intelligence.
Autumn Ring, one of the series’ classic circuits, will return in both its original and extended layouts.
