Terra Núblar, the latest addition to Galicia’s family attractions, has officially opened its gates in Outeiro de Rei, Lugo. Spanning 33,000 square meters of oak woodland, the park invites visitors to explore five distinct themed trails, each populated by life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and Ice Age creatures. The park began welcoming guests on July 13, 2026, and has already drawn significant attention from families and dinosaur enthusiasts alike.
At the heart of Terra Núblar are 23 animatronic figures representing a range of prehistoric animals. Highlights include iconic species such as Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, as well as Ice Age giants like the woolly mammoth and the saber-toothed tiger. The Diplodocus, stretching an impressive 22 meters from head to tail, stands out as the park’s largest and most technically challenging installation. These figures are integrated into the landscape, surrounded by ancient trees, ponds, and winding paths.
Themed Trails and Family Facilities
Visitors can choose from five marked routes, each offering a different journey through prehistory. The Mila Trail focuses on the Ice Age, featuring mammoths, woolly rhinos, steppe bison, and cave bears. The Voladores Trail showcases flying reptiles like Quetzalcoatlus and Pteranodon. The Victoria Trail is dedicated to the great carnivores, including Spinosaurus, Allosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus rex. The Herbivores Trail highlights Jurassic plant-eaters such as Stegosaurus and Diplodocus, while the Carmen Trail explores Cretaceous herbivores like Iguanodon, Ankylosaurus, and Triceratops.
Beyond the trails, Terra Núblar offers a playground, picnic area, café, kiosk, and shop. The park is fully accessible for visitors with special needs and welcomes dogs on leashes. According to the organizers, Rebeca Fernández and Javier Ferreiro, more than 2,000 tickets were sold before the official opening, reflecting strong public interest.
Ticket Prices and Opening Hours
General admission for visitors aged 13 and over is €15.50. Children between 4 and 12 years pay €12, while entry is free for those under three. Visitors with a disability rating of 33% or higher benefit from a special €5 rate. A discounted second visit is available for €10 if purchased upon exit, and an annual personalized pass costs €60.
During peak season, the park operates daily from 10:00 to 19:00. In the off-season, it is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00, with last entry permitted one hour before closing.

Terra Núblar is located at As Cavadas 7A, Vilela, within the municipality of Outeiro de Rei. The site is accessible by car via the A-6 motorway or the N-VI road, with clear signage and on-site parking. Intercity bus lines connect Lugo and Outeiro de Rei, and the drive from Santiago de Compostela Airport takes about an hour via the A-54.
