Terra Núblar, a new family attraction in Galicia, has opened in Outeiro de Rei, Lugo. Set across 33,000 square meters of oak woodland, the park has five themed trails populated by life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and Ice Age creatures. It began welcoming guests on July 13, 2026, drawing families and dinosaur enthusiasts.
Terra Núblar has 23 animatronic figures representing prehistoric animals. Among the iconic species are Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, Triceratops and Brachiosaurus, alongside Ice Age giants such as the woolly mammoth and saber-toothed tiger. The Diplodocus, measuring 22 meters from head to tail, is the park’s largest and most technically challenging installation. The figures sit within the field, among ancient trees, ponds and winding paths.
Themed Trails and Family Facilities
Visitors can choose from five marked routes, each tracing a different journey through prehistory. The Mila Trail focuses on the Ice Age, with mammoths, woolly rhinos, steppe bison and cave bears. The Voladores Trail features flying reptiles such as Quetzalcoatlus and Pteranodon. The Victoria Trail is devoted to great carnivores, including Spinosaurus, Allosaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex. The Herbivores Trail features Jurassic plant-eaters such as Stegosaurus and Diplodocus, while the Carmen Trail explores Cretaceous herbivores, including Iguanodon, Ankylosaurus and Triceratops.
Alongside the trails, Terra Núblar has a playground and picnic area, plus a café, kiosk and shop. The park is fully accessible to visitors with special needs, and dogs are welcome on leashes. Organizers Rebeca Fernández and Javier Ferreiro said more than 2,000 tickets had sold before the official opening, a sign of strong public interest.
Ticket Prices and Opening Hours
General admission costs €15.50 for visitors aged 13 and over. Children aged 4 to 12 pay €12, while entry is free for those under three. Visitors with a disability rating of 33% or higher qualify for a special rate of €5. A discounted second visit costs €10 when purchased upon exit, and an annual personalized pass is €60.
During peak season, the park is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. In the off-season, it opens Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00. Last entry is permitted one hour before closing.
Getting There
Terra Núblar is at As Cavadas 7A, Vilela, in the municipality of Outeiro de Rei. Drivers can reach the site via the A-6 motorway or the N-VI road; clear signage and on-site parking are available. Intercity bus lines connect Lugo and Outeiro de Rei, while the lead from Santiago de Compostela Airport takes about an hour via the A-54.
The park is part of a wider regional calendar of dinosaur-themed attractions. In a report published on October 20 and updated on October 22, 2026, El Español’s Quincemil described a large life-sized dinosaur park in Outeiro de Rei and said a separate temporary exhibition, Jurassic Experience, was scheduled to visit A Coruña on October 24 and 25. The report distinguishes the established Lugo attraction from the short-run event in A Coruña.
