Dani Fernández Returns to the Stage After Serious Shoulder Injury. Spanish musician Dani Fernández has performed again at the Mallorca Live Festival after undergoing shoulder surgery. The artist spoke about the challenges of rehabilitation, changes in his schedule, and plans for a creative break.

Dani Fernández, one of the most prominent artists on the contemporary Spanish scene, took to the stage at the Mallorca Live Festival for the first time after a serious shoulder injury. His return was an event for fans: just a month and a half ago, the musician underwent surgery and was forced to completely halt his touring activities. According to Fernández, such a long break was a new experience for him — previously he had faced only minor health problems, but had never been forced to fully stop performing.

Rehabilitation turned out to be more difficult than expected: daily training, physical effort, and constant doubts about whether he could withstand the concert pace again. Although by the return date — June 6 — the artist was not fully recovered, he decided not to postpone the performance. Fernández admits that he still feels discomfort and cannot sleep properly, but notes that the process is going faster than doctors had predicted.

In the first days after the operation, the singer could hardly get off the couch because of pain. But this enforced rest gave him time to rethink things: the absence of his usual musical routine made him reflect on his priorities and future. Fernández notes that many considered his recovery a vacation, but for him it was a difficult period, during which the support of the medical team played a major role.

Interestingly, the idea to take a break from touring came to the artist even before the injury. He plans to pause from October to let the project "breathe" and to rekindle his own creative drive. According to him, the constant activity of recent years led to emotional burnout, and now he wants to return to music with the same enthusiasm as at the start of his career.

Recovery from the injury also affected his physical condition: Fernandez lost up to five kilograms of muscle mass and is now gradually regaining his previous level. The first concerts after the hiatus showed that his body needs time to adjust—in Murcia, by the third song, the singer already felt fatigue, but he has no intention of slowing down.

During his rehabilitation, Fernandez managed to attend concerts by other artists. He was especially impressed by Bad Bunny's show: despite the difference in musical styles, Fernandez noted the sound quality, the atmosphere, and the live performance. He emphasized that many underestimate Bad Bunny's vocal abilities, although he personally witnessed his professionalism. By the way, the premiere of a joint track by Ana Mena and Lola Índigo recently took place in Madrid, which Fernandez only learned about after catching up on the news—the details of this event can be found in the article about the premiere of the two singers' new hit.

After attending the Bad Bunny concert, Fernández was asked if he saw himself performing at the Metropolitano stadium. The musician admitted that his work is suited for more intimate venues, where closeness with the audience is important. Even the Movistar Arena seems too big for his format, as his songs are, above all, about emotions and personal connection.

In recent weeks, the singer has hardly used social media, which led to a complete digital isolation: he was not following new music releases and even missed the start of the football championship, despite being a long-time supporter of the Spanish national team and his friends who play for it.

Fans often ask Fernández for duets with Aitana and Dani Martín, especially after joint performances. However, the artist believes that such projects should arise naturally and not at the audience's request. At the moment he is focused on finishing the tour and preparing for a creative break.

The La Insurrección Tour will continue until October, after which Dani Fernández plans to dedicate himself entirely to writing new songs. According to RUSSPAIN, such career breaks are becoming increasingly common among Spanish musicians: they allow not only for recuperation, but also to reconsider their creative path. The Mallorca Live Festival, where Fernández made his return to the stage, is considered one of the biggest musical events in the Balearic Islands and gathers thousands of fans every year. In recent years, artists have been more vocal about the need for balance between work and personal life, which is also reflected in their touring schedules.
