Three Spanish-registered cars are among 38 vehicles Gibraltar plans to scrap after they were held in municipal depots. Their registration details may help owners identify them before removal.

Gibraltar’s municipal depots have held the vehicles for some time. They are now among 38 cars earmarked for scrapping. Three carry Spanish registrations. Gibraltar’s traffic framework includes the Traffic Act 2005 and the Traffic (Parking and Waiting) Regulations 2011. An official legislation notice sets out authorised-person appointments under section 44E(5) of the Act and regulation 2 of the 2011 regulations.

Two of the vehicles are a black Volkswagen with registration 0472 CYC and a white Ford with registration 2508 GPL. The third is a white Renault with registration 3586 HRF. The published details may help people recognise a car they own or one whose disappearance they reported.

That cross-border issue differs from the city driving choices discussed in this Madrid driving report. In Gibraltar, the immediate concern is whether a potential owner can identify a vehicle before it is removed for scrapping.

There is no confirmation that any of the three cars was stolen.
