TVE will air the semifinal of ‘El túnel: avanza y gana’ on Tuesday, 22 September, at 23:00, followed by the grand final on Wednesday, 23 September. Both episodes will run after ‘La Revuelta’ on La 1, and the semifinal will cut the field from 16 contestants to 8.
The schedule change comes just three weeks after the show debuted on La 1. Jesús Vázquez has led the competition through its short run. On semifinal night, ‘El túnel’ will face ‘En tierra lejana’ on Antena 3, while Cuatro airs ‘Código 10’. Telecinco will show ‘Supervivientes All Stars: Tierra de Nadie’.
The premiere on 9 September drew a 12.2% audience share and 949,000 viewers, the best launch for a game show on La 1 in 2026. The second episode, on 16 September, recorded a 10% share and 667,000 viewers. RTVE said the show performed particularly well among viewers aged 25 to 44, with a 17.8% share. Viewers aged 13 to 24 accounted for 15.3%, and the show led its slot among those aged 45 to 64, with 12.7%. Several publications have put the final prize at 150,000 euros, though RTVE’s official description should be checked to confirm the figure.
RTVE announced the schedule change on its official X account: “The decisive week on ‘El túnel’ is here! The semifinal is on Tuesday, and the grand final on Wednesday.”
With ‘El túnel: avanza y gana’ ending, TVE faces a gap on Tuesday nights. ‘Dog House’ has already left a hole in the lineup, while ‘Al cielo con ella’, hosted by Henar Álvarez, still has no return date. TVE will need to keep viewers interested as it looks for the next show to anchor its prime time.
