A crucial moment of the Formula 1 race weekend has arrived in Singapore. Championship contenders are preparing for the start of the season’s eighteenth round, set on the Marina Bay street circuit. This track is considered one of the most challenging on the calendar, where every mistake can be costly.
The qualifying session remained suspenseful until the final seconds. In the third practice, Max Verstappen posted the fastest time, but the gap between the top five was less than one-tenth of a second. In a surprising turn, George Russell excelled in the battle for pole, outpacing his rivals to claim the first starting position. He was followed by Verstappen and Oscar Piastri, with Kimi Antonelli and Lando Norris rounding out the top five.
Fernando Alonso accomplished his day’s goal by reaching the final part of qualifying. However, he was unable to improve his result and will start the race from tenth position. Carlos Sainz failed to make it into Q3 and will start thirteenth, making his chances for a top result more difficult.
