Aleix Espargaró, formerly known as a professional motorcycle racer and now an avid cyclist, has once again attracted public attention thanks to his passion for cars. His interest in sports cars is no secret: on social media, he regularly posts photos with a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 718 Cayman GT4 RS, and Ferrari Purosangue.
Recently, however, Espargaró has been increasingly drawn not to modern supercars but to vehicles that have become classics of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first step in this direction was his purchase of a Porsche 911 Turbo (993 generation), which he often drives on the roads of Andorra, where he lives. The car features a license plate reading “Dream,” highlighting his special attachment to the vehicle.
Despite the impressive specifications of the Porsche—408 horsepower, 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds, and a top speed of 290 km/h—Espargaró decided not to stop there. His collection has gained another iconic car: the Ferrari F355. Produced from 1994 to 1999, this sports car is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine producing 380 hp, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 295 km/h.
The arrival of the Ferrari F355 in the athlete’s garage was the fulfillment of a childhood dream. Espargaró noted that the car combines investment appeal with the thrill of driving, further fueling his interest in classic models. He emphasizes that these cars not only deliver dynamic performance but also increase in value over time.
The exact amount of the deal has not been disclosed, but it is known that similar Ferraris today are valued at over 100,000 euros and continue to appreciate. For Espargaró, acquiring the F355 was not just an addition to his garage, but an important milestone in building his personal collection and a testament to his passion for cars with a history.
