On Thursday morning, a fire broke out in a house in the upscale La Moraleja district in Alcobendas. The incident affected the residence of Madrid club forward Vinicius Junior. According to preliminary reports, the fire started in the suspended ceiling of the sauna located in the building’s basement.
Madrid fire crews arrived at the scene after receiving an alert around 11 a.m. They quickly contained the fire and ventilated the smoke-affected areas. As a result of the incident, the sauna was completely destroyed by fire, and smoke spread to two levels of the house.
At the time of the incident, the property owner was absent. According to experts, an electrical wiring fault may have caused the fire. Fortunately, no residents or staff were injured, and no cases of smoke inhalation were reported.
By noon, firefighters had completed their work and left the site after ensuring there was no risk of re-ignition. Vinicius Junior was in Seoul at the time, where, together with teammates Éder Militão and Rodrygo, he was preparing for Brazil’s national team matches under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti. In the coming days, the team will face South Korea and Japan.
The fire at the famous footballer’s house did not affect his participation in training or preparations for international matches. Local authorities and emergency service representatives highlighted the coordinated response of first responders, which prevented serious harm to people and property.
