Marc Márquez arrived at the MotoGP World Championship round in Indonesia visibly tired. After securing his championship title in Japan, the athlete attended numerous events in Jakarta before heading to Lombok Island. He still has five races left this season, and he is trying not to put extra pressure on himself.
According to the rider, the fatigue built up gradually, and after achieving his main goal for the season, his adrenaline levels dropped. Márquez admits he would like to take a break, but his schedule doesn’t allow for it. The very next day, he has to get back on track, despite a busy and emotional week.
For the remaining races of the season, Márquez is not aiming to win at any cost. He notes that after a year-long intense battle, it’s now more important for him to enjoy racing and avoid unnecessary mistakes. In his view, after reaching the main goal, concentration can dip, so it’s important to stay focused.
Márquez pays particular attention to the fact that the Indonesian track remains unfinished business for him: he has yet to finish a race here. Therefore, one of his goals for this weekend is simply to complete the race. Overall, he approaches the remaining rounds of the season without undue pressure and is ready to accept the results calmly, even if he is not among the leaders in practice sessions.
The racer recalls that in previous years, when he won titles, he always pushed to attack right until the end. Now, after several intense seasons, he prefers to focus on consistency and preparing for the following year. In 2026, Márquez plans to fight for victories again, but for now his goal is to remain steadily among the top finishers.
This season, Márquez has a chance to approach his record for most wins in a year, but he is not fixated on statistics. Upcoming races will take place on tracks that have not always been favorable for him, but he is confident he can deliver a strong performance.
The rider also notes that work has already begun on preparations for the next season. In Indonesia, the team will be testing new settings and solutions to lay the groundwork for future successes.
Speaking about the on-track battles, Márquez emphasizes that modern MotoGP bikes make overtaking extremely difficult. He cites examples of other racers to show how crucial starting position has become. Nevertheless, if an opportunity arises to fight for positions, he will definitely take it, but he is not willing to take unnecessary risks.
In conclusion, Márquez commented on why he is not considered Valentino Rossi’s main rival. According to him, they never fought directly for the championship title, and in different years his main competitors were other riders.
