The charity founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has officially changed its name. The organization will now be known as Archewell Philanthropies. The decision coincides with the foundation’s fifth anniversary, during which time it has become a significant player on the international philanthropic stage.
The renaming reflects the couple’s ambition to expand their work and increase their impact on global social issues. The foundation’s leadership notes that, over the past five years, its mission has not only endured but become even more relevant. Archewell Philanthropies plans to deepen support for communities around the world, with a focus on mental health and social integration.
Five years of change
Harry and Meghan founded the charity in 2020, shortly after stepping back from their official duties as members of the British royal family. From the outset, the couple aimed to continue their philanthropic work that began during their time as working royals. Since then, Archewell has backed numerous initiatives related to digital safety, education, and women’s leadership.
In 2023, the foundation launched the Parents’ Network project to support parents whose children have suffered from online threats and social media bullying. This initiative was a response to growing public concern over child safety on the internet.
Supporting women and refugees
Another significant focus of the foundation has been supporting women refugees. The Welcome Project was launched to assist women forced to leave Afghanistan and start a new life in the United States. Over time, the program expanded and now helps women from various countries who have found refuge not only in the US, but also in Canada.
The organization works closely with local communities, helping newcomers integrate and adapt to their new circumstances. Special emphasis is placed on education, professional development, and psychological support.
New Horizons
Renaming the foundation isn’t the only change Meghan Markle made in 2025. In February, she rebranded her personal label, changing the name from American Orchard Riviera to As Ever. This decision was driven by a desire to move beyond local positioning and expand the range of products.
Meghan explained that the new name reflects her commitment to consistency and authenticity. In April, the As Ever brand released its first product line: herbal teas, raspberry jam, honey, and floral sprinkles. The products sold out within hours of launch, demonstrating strong audience interest in the initiative.
Media and Business
Alongside her charity work, Meghan is preparing a new season of her Netflix show. She notes that partnering with the platform has been an important milestone in the development of her business. According to Meghan, the collaboration with Netflix not only expanded her audience but also enabled her to bring new creative ideas to life.
Harry and Meghan continue to play an active role in public life, supporting various social and educational initiatives. Their projects resonate with a broad audience, and the foundation’s name change highlights their readiness to take on new challenges and ambitious goals.
