Operación Triunfo 2025 Director Urges Not to Succumb to Relationship Pressure

Scandal at Operación Triunfo: Noemí Galera Teaches Freedom in Love and at Work

The show’s mentor has offered important advice. Contestants are facing a difficult choice. Their personal lives are under threat. What’s happening behind the scenes of the project?

As the fourth gala concert of the popular music reality show Operación Triunfo 2025 approaches, tensions are rising at the academy. After another contestant’s elimination and during the traditional post-show debrief, project director Noemí Galera decided to address a rather delicate subject that, in her view, prevents many participants from fully opening up.

With her trademark straightforwardness, yet also warmth and respect, she turned to the young artists. Galera shared her observations: during acting classes, many of them appear tense. The reason for this, she believes, is that they’re concerned about what their significant others might think as they watch from home. She emphasized that being on stage is simply playing a role and that there is no need to attach undue importance to stage kisses or hugs. This is just part of the job, nothing more.

Under the attentive gaze of the contestants, the mentor continued, drawing on her own life experience. She noted that the current generation seems overly preoccupied with such things, and as someone about to turn 60, this surprises her. Galera offered clear, unequivocal advice: if your partner doesn’t allow you to touch someone on stage or take on certain roles as part of your work, it’s worth seriously reconsidering such a relationship. In her opinion, no one should have to accept those kinds of restrictions.

She explained that such internal self-control hinders the creative process, preventing artists from fully relaxing and immersing themselves in their roles. This ‘corset’ of external expectations and fears may well be what blocks them from achieving greater freedom and naturalness in their performance. Galera suggested that by letting go of these anxieties, participants could unlock their potential much more deeply, since they are not doing anything objectionable.

Concluding her monologue, she clarified that her remarks were not directed at everyone, but only at those in whom she noticed this tendency. She said she would be truly sorry if someone missed a unique opportunity out of fear that outsiders might invent ‘Martian stories’ about them. Reminding everyone of the specifics of their work—such as in musical theater, where simulating romantic and even intimate scenes is routine—she once again emphasized that a partner should not restrict you in any way. This conversation resonated strongly with viewers of the show on Prime Video, and her words were highly praised and widely shared on social media among young people, sparking a lively public discussion.
