Former ‘Gran Hermano VIP’ reality show contestant and well-known model Estela Grande is living through one of the most exciting times of her life. Together with her partner, footballer Juan Iglesias, she is preparing to welcome twins. The couple, who have been together for three years, shared the joyful news last July by posting a touching video with the sound of their babies’ heartbeats. Later, Estela also revealed the genders of their future children—a boy and a girl.
However, along with the happy anticipation, some medical complications have arisen. The influencer shared that she will not be able to give birth naturally. The reason is a surgery she underwent several years ago, before becoming pregnant. In 2023, the model had a myomectomy—an operation to remove benign tumors from the uterus. The procedure was complicated and required an incision similar to that of a cesarean section.
Although the surgery was successful and preserved her ability to become a mother, it left her with a deep internal scar. This scar on the uterine wall now poses a serious risk for natural childbirth. Doctors have confirmed with almost complete certainty that the babies will need to be delivered via scheduled cesarean section. This decision was made to ensure maximum safety for both the mother and the children.
Estela admitted that it was difficult for her to come to terms with the news. She had hoped to experience vaginal childbirth but understands that health comes first. Doctors explained that the tremendous strain during labor and pushing, especially with a multiple pregnancy, could cause the uterus to rupture along the old scar. That’s why surgery is the only safe option. There is a small chance that labor could begin earlier than planned, in which case an emergency operation will be performed.
Now, the model has fully accepted the situation and is preparing for the upcoming procedure and recovery. She’s focusing on staying positive and is looking forward to finally meeting her much-awaited twins, knowing the doctors’ chosen approach is the safest.
