Franco Mastantuono, who plays for the Madrid club, was forced to leave the Argentina national team camp early. The reason was muscle overload, identified during preparations for a friendly match against Venezuela scheduled to take place in Miami.
Earlier this week, representatives of the Madrid club reported that the midfielder had developed muscle issues after the match with Villarreal. Despite this, the player still joined the national squad and participated in several training sessions with his teammates.
However, ahead of the upcoming game, the medical staff of the Argentine federation decided not to risk the player’s health. It was announced that Mastantuono would not take part in the remainder of the tour due to overload in the left thigh muscles. He will travel to Madrid soon, where he will undergo a more thorough examination.
It was also revealed that Leo Messi will not take the field against Venezuela. The federation confirmed his absence but did not specify whether he would remain with the squad or leave. His participation in the next match against Puerto Rico, scheduled for Chicago, remains uncertain.
As a result, the coaching staff is forced to adjust the lineup for the upcoming games, while fans are awaiting news on the condition of key players.
